Bait and Switch

Whenever traveling in a foreign country and someone to whom you have paid money says, “Oh, you are lucky”, remember that you are about to be screwed. This happened on my arrival to Mendoza. I had paid a large sum of money, $380, for the privilege of starting the expedition two days early, in order to gain better acclimatization to altitude. Instead my only option was a side trip to the Valecitos mountains for an overnight guided camping trip.

So, tired from the airline trip I headed to the hotel to get some rest prior to heading out in the morning.
